Savera UK Youth has received the following awards for its work campaigning to end HBA and harmful practices.

Steve Biko Housing Association Awards 2022

In 2022 Liverpool-based members of Savera UK Youth were awarded Young Person Awards by Steve Biko Housing Association for their commitment to continuing to raise awareness of ‘honour’-based abuse and harmful practices throughout the pandemic.

As part of Black History Month in October, the awards recognised and celebrated the achievements of young people in Liverpool who “went above and beyond” to support others during the pandemic.

The awards were held on 28th October at St George’s Hall in Liverpool. Members who received the Steve Biko Housing Association Award 2022 are; Ayo Folarin, Elias Folarin, Hannah Gloudon, Naomi Otubu, Malcom Thwala & Kusqaum Adam.

Youth Led National Crimebeat Awards 2020

In 2020 Savera UK Youth secured third prize in the ‘Youth Led’ category of the National Crimebeat Awards. The prestigious award ceremony exists to give recognition to the most innovative and successful crime prevention projects carried out across the UK, with categories celebrating both adult and youth-led work.

Amanda Parker, National Crimebeat Chair, said: “This was well deserved recognition of a very special organisation run by some very special and highly committed young people and of their hard work in support of a very important cause.”

Kusqaum Adam, Former Chair of Savera UK Youth, said: “This means so much to Savera UK Youth as it is our aim to get recognition, spread our message and raise as much awareness as we possibly can. I am thankful that we have been given the opportunity to show our hard work for everyone to see and appreciate.”
